Sarongs are contemporary

Oh, I am loving this Gen-Ed course. Then again, I haven't started doing assignments yet. However, the lecturer seems VERY promising indeed. We all roared in laughter unanimously whenever she cracked a joke and waved her hands in the air.

I was quite surprised at the number of familiar faces in the theater as well.

I'm sick of emails. I'm sick of being regarded as spam. Pardon me.

Yay! I have (light) chocolate ice cream in the freezer! Its only 3 something at Coles. That means you save 2 something dollars. Go get em Tiger!

I still can't pinpoint one exact honours project to do so I emailed (there we go again) a couple of supervisors. I hope they let me in. Fini says they're generally nice. But what if its all full and noone wants me?? :(

Btw, last night's soiree at Masuya was splendid! The Sapporo hotpot is still a winner. :D And to wash it all down, a nice Twinkle Beach Mocktail. Whee!

Check out what Reen sent to me. Cannot goooo..hahaaha:

Happy Birthday Sindy Kwok! :D

It was one of those glorious sunny Winter days today. :D

I figured out why I've been constantly tired these past 2 days. Its the big 'P'. Surprise surprise! I didn't go through the mood swings and aches typical to my PMS'.

Oh, Zek, don't get mad but I went to Leah's this afternoon for some Caramel Meringue Cake. Oh my, that just topped off my sunny happy day. I can still taste the crisp meringue on my tongue and how it crackles and fizzles to sweet syrup in my mouth. Sigh. However, the chocolate meringue is still my favourite. At $5.50 though, I don't think I would be having more anytime soon. :)

I think flitting through Foodie Blogs is detrimental to ones appetite. Even if it is in the name of research or work. It firstly enrages ones hunger at all the mouth watering morsels, which leads to one grabbing the nearest snack (in my case a Coconut Slab from Whittaker) and satiating ones lust for food. Finally, ones appetite for dinner has spoiled due to a stomach full of chocolates. Okay fine, there's still half a slab left and I'm still hungry for dinner. Because I managed to disable the photos and distract myself with some British boys prancing around on Eurovision.

I swear the dude in the van from Franz Josef looked like Ant from Hyrise. Oh, did I tell you guys Fini and I were in a van full of male British backpackers? And an absolute cutie sat next to Fini during the first half of the trip. She of course was sleeping all the way. I managed to catch a glimpse of him sketching in between pages of American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

Okay. Before I do a U-Turn and bite back with a TINGE of crankyness, I shall end my post here. Hee

Aint gonna panic me

This is going to sound Uber corny, but everytime I look at my blog, I feel happy. Makes me change my mind about ranting on how tired I am.

Instead, I'm going to tell you that I've been re-watching All Time Low and Hyrise on Youtube. Cute guys ALWAYS makes me chipper. Hahaha...

And tomorrow, I've only got ONE class! Wheeeee!!! I still have to pick out my honours course though. Anyone wants to help me?

Shia got arrested again recently. Hmm. I wonder if that makes him a bad person or just an Idiot who gets caught more often than others.

My mom handed in an article about her trip to Bario, Sarawak to The Star and she just sent me the newspaper clipping. I'm immensly proud of her. :D I on the other hand, haven't had much writing done and that chance to prove so dissipated with the exams. Meh.

Oh, more cute guys yayyyy!!

long due

Finally my baby has a major image overhaul!

Aaackk..Uni starts in 8 hours! Nooooooo!!!!

And pretty soon, say in about 33 days from now, I'll be passed out on my bed due to pure exhaustion and relief. Unless of course, my lecturers decide that then would be the right time to have submissions and quizzes.

I'm getting electrical shocks just thinking about it.

Btw, this bright new blogskin makes me smile. Must be the beach. And the faded photo. Or maybe it's just generally happier than my previous skin which was emo much. :P

Okay see ya peeps!

Aww man, no more Shortland Street! :(

Yes, I am back. My room's a mess but it sure feels good to be home and sleep in my own bed. :D

NZ was a blast. As you can see from the previous posts, I had quite an awesome time. In addition to the awesome activities, I enjoyed the company of the friends I met. Thanks Azmir for cooking! And thanks Tomen n Supep for entertaining us. :D

And of course, thank you to my Sayang Liyana. For Everything. Spending time with you wrapped up my winter break pretty nicely. Love you lots and lots. :D

Oh, I had a nice walk one chilly morning in Queenstown. And I wrote some stuff on a little notepad. I'll put it up one day. Haha.

Ah yes, I watched The Dark Knight last night. Holy Cow! If you haven't watched it, go forth and secure those tickets now! Believe every word all the good reviews present. Like this one.

There's this one line that Harvey Dent recites, 'You either die a hero, or live long enough to watch yourself turn into a villain'. The same can be said for an artist, you either die at the peak of your career like James Dean and Kurt Cobain or you live long enough to watch yourself star in Blockbuster flops and straight to video movies like a handful of Hollywood Has Beens. And from here, we conclude that Heath Ledger went out with the biggest bang of all as the Joker.

Now, which one shall I pick?

Tough decision. But I think I'm banking on the one with the burger. Scruffy, offbeat dork as opposed to the pretty prince. Yea. Gasp all you want. I think its the facial hair.

Freezing in the glaciers

I'll make this fast. I've only got ten minutes on the clock left.
I'm having a great time here in NZ. Part of me doesn't want to leave and face reality. Part of me wants to laze around at home reading comics.

Rotorua was awesome! I had fun Swooping, Zorbing and singing in the bus with Ngata. We had an educational excursion to a Maori village. One of the warriors is Smoking Hot. Kan Reen kan??? :D and our guide is probably the funniest and best tour guide I've ever met. Kudos Ngata! He even sang Rasa Sayang to us on the bus. :P

I'm now in Franz Josef. We did the Glacier Hike today. Me? Hike? Pfft. But I did it, and i didn't even slip. I've done so many things I wouldn't normally do on this trip. Like that hike, like adrenaline inducing Swoop and using a public toilet to do my business...you know, the big one..shhhhh...

After today, I'm just kicking back and relaxing. This trip has been worthwhile. The majestic beauty of the countryside itself is rewarding enough. Oh! I managed to go for the LOTR tour. I slipped during that though. :P
Okay gtg! Loves!

I can feel it coming in the air tonight

Hi, I'm in Auckland now. Enjoying the wet and gloomy atmosphere which somehow, no matter how bad it sounds, feels quite comforting.

I'm also enjoying the company of my Intec friends. Oh and some Sydney ones. Collecting all the GOSSIP I can get. *cue evil laughter*

I didn't make it to Coromandel or Matamata due to the showers and expensiveness of the tours. I don't think Cair Paravel will look as glorious under dark clouds and strong winds. Neither will Hobbiton. Sigh.

But I truly am enjoying this holiday. Just relaxing, in between all the manic traveling I have and will be enduring soon. Thanks Reen. :D

Read this with no pauses: Queen St-White Chicks-Chocolate Boutique-Monopoly-Howick-Cupcakes.

Out of breath yet? :P Okay I'll update you laytah. Miss you loads Mummy, but international roaming is expensive. Ha Ha Ha.

It means no worries, for the rest of your days

I'm leaving tomorrow morning. To the land with one of the most scenic plains in the world. Yet, the part I'm most excited about is sleeping and bumming straight after I touch down in Sydney on the 22nd.

Don't ask me why, but I'm somehow not THAT excited to go on this trip.
Must be the lack of company.
Or maybe I'm cranky at the lack of sleep. :P

Oh well, I'll leave you guys to enjoy YOUR winter/summer holidays.
I think Narnia still has some stupid psychological effect on me.
Oh no, trust me, I'm jaded enough.
Pray I find myself ala Elizabeth Gilbert on my winter escapade and grow up. And find the courage to be a better Muslim, daughter, friend, student and EP.

I can't afford his gas, so I'm stuck here watching TV

And thus, with these pretty babies, I wish Americans Happy Independence day. Yesterday. :P

On our own home front, political scandals are running rampant and the people have ceased to believe what officials churn out of their biased mouths. Everything seems to come out at such a convenient time and the gunfires are getting increasingly rapid.
Please be reminded that I am not taking sides and that I am merely observing what the leaders of my country are stating and echoing the sentiments of my fellow citizens.

Anyway, as I promised, I'll share with you a little bit about my excursion to Watson's Bay and Marrickville. The former is located somewhere Northeast of Sydney central. Its views are really gorgeous. I got excited watching the rainbow coloured sea sprays forming as the wind swept the sea surface. :D There wasn't much to do there except enjoy the scenery and if you're loaded, indulge in some overpriced seafood at the famous Doyle's.

The view of the Pacific Ocean

The view of the city from Watson's Bay

Waiting for the ferry back to Circular Quay

Then it was off to Marrickville, a suburb in the inner west of Sydney. Apparently famous for Greek Bakeries, I was duly disappointed when I only found one manned by a cute Greek Grandma. We had a huge slice of Baklava which tasted slightly different to the normal Turkish/Lebanese ones and some unidentifiable pastries that were full of spice and honey. Okla, we're not used to it but I think they were pretty good.

Staring at the pretty cakes on display

We then ended the day with a trip to the Op Shops in Newtown and Surry Hills where I scored a vintage tweed blazer for thirty bucks. :)

Oh while I'm at it, I'll mention a little something about Leichardt. I love the place. With its quaint Italian eateries and the Amazing Bar Italia. We had coffee and dessert. We also had Italian fare further down the road but I've tasted better dishes back in Malaysia.

The one I miss. Balik cepat please.

Zek's Coffee and Canoli.

Okay. Thus ends this edition of Sheera's holiday ramblings. More tomorrow! :P

Akunaaaa Matataaaa

Aw man, I am SO friggin tired.

I've been out the whole day everyday for the past week. Well, except for that day we cleaned the house. That doesnt count because scrubbing the fridge and busting moves on the ps2 wipes me out anyway. :D

Ok. The thing is, after exhausting my weekly pass, I went to Canberra for 2 days to bond with my housemates and visit that bapok Wei Hon. (No, he's not really a bapok, he just tends to use that word alot when he's around me...could it be that I'm the bapok then? Hmm). So I haven't had a proper day off since exams finished. I'm not really complaining. I'm just very tired. Hee.

Oh and to those who plan on visiting Canberra, please just drop by Silo Bakery in Kingston. I think the Brioche straight out of the oven is heaven sent. Warm and buttery, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. It's an absolute DREAM. Hands down, that is the BEST bread I have EVER tasted. Which is why, the place was packed even at 830 am. We had to wait for about half an hour to be seated. That pretty much made my day. Not the queueing but the brioche.

Okay more updates and photos later. I'll do one entry on Watson's Bay and Marrickville first. Then on to Canberra. Now, I'm off to bed. Sigh.

Super McDeluxe Chicken Supreme

Nothing signifies the end of exams quite like an absence of a blog post.
Okay, that by far was the LAMEST thing I've come up with this week. And its only Tuesday. Kot.

Anyway, it's been pretty good so far. The exams wrapped up badly but with my mom's help, I managed to push it all aside. And now, I'm having fun wiping myself out every day.

I am also pokai now. Har Har.

Okay, just in case you were wondering, I managed to travel around Sydney with my weekly pass. Newtown, Bondi Beach, Leichardt, Glebe, City. Brought Ayu around, baked cupcakes with Hawa, May and Zek. Had lotsa FOOD. Helped Anas do his art project. Laughed at Paan's jokes. Played DDR with HC. Watched tennis with housemates and friends. Talked politics with Arif. Listened to Farouk complain. This is what you call a holiday man. This is what I need. And there's more to come. :D

Oh check this out. Its kinda stupid, yet funny.

I think Ben Barnes is the new Orlando Bloom. Even though he is meltingly hot, I shall look back and grimace at my stupid fangirl obsession with his fictional character. Just like how I'm doing now with Legolas. Surprisingly, I'm not really embarrased about John Allerdyce. Maybe coz he didn't wear a tunic and tights. :P

I've actually planned a whole list of 'me time' activities for tonight but I'm too tired to carry them out. Hahaha. Lard Ass Sheera Strikes Again. So I'm going off to bed after I laugh at memories of people having Winter Flings. Hahahaha.
