Candy Girl

Ever wondered what sort of candy u are? Apparently this is what I am:

Butterfinger

They call you sticky fingers for a reason!
What Kind of Candy Are You?

I was thinking more of a Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Sweet and chocolatey on the outside. Totally nutty on the inside. Nice.

Slow and Steady

Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy.

They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder.

It'd really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment.

They expect you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it.
How Do People See You?

Haaa? Ye ke? Owh. Yes la.. Kakakaka.

Winter Break 2006

Hey. Many apologies for my absence. I know I haven’t been a good blogger. It’s just that I’m back in Msia for hols n the internet is bloody slow at home. Anyway. What have I been up to u ask? Am I enjoying myself back home you wonder? Why yes!

It’s been fun just relaxing back home. I don’t regret coming back, though I do miss my frens in Sydney, imagining all the weird stuff we’d be talking about at the dining hall at 3 in the morning. But nothing beats hanging out with my best friends, making jokes noone else understands, eating at my grandma’s house, which always has the BEST FOOD EVER while laughing at my family’s antics. (I’m not the joker of the family; I’m in a family of jokers). Then there’s food with my teman makan and movies with my teman wayang. ;). Everything I’ve been missing in Aussie I get to experience in these three precious weeks.

I’ve also been able to spend some time alone. I like. It’s really great being able to drive around by myself, having coffee at starbucks or some other cafe while reading a good book. So far I’ve finished Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson and Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. The former is sad. I prefer Sam’s Letter for Jennifer by the same author though. Prep is good too. It’s about a girl’s life in boarding school. It’s funny that I can share the same sentiments with a 16 year old girl. I find myself going, ‘Hey, I’ve been through that!’ or ‘Yea, I feel the same way,’ when I read the book. Those who like Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger should check this book out. Currently I’m in the midst of reading Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides which is about a Greek hermaphrodite or ‘khunsa’ as we malays call it. It’s quite interesting, spanning three generations of incest which brought about the recessive mutation on the fifth chromosome of the hero/heroine. But it’s quite lengthy so it’s been taking awhile to finish…

Besides that, I’ve been eating a lot. I mean A LOT. I remember having hot dogs and roti pisang the first day I came back. JOY. Nothing beats Malaysian food and mamak stalls. Except maybe Italian food, which is halal here in Msia. :D. Mascarpone mushroom at Delicious. Spaghetti Goreng at Williams. Fettuccine Carbonara anywhere. *sigh* Owh. I still haven’t had Marche’s Tiramisu. Gah! I must! Keropok Lekor. Goreng pisang. Telur Bistik. Yummy. I love all the halal food in Msia. Though I’m starting to miss the oyster mornay at the Sydney Fish Market as well as the Cheese Hontou Pancakes and Prawn Balls in Chinatown. Glorious!

Well. That’s enough for now. I’ve got errands to run. When I go back to Sydney, I’d have to start fresh. At least this time I know I’ve got awesome friends to lean on when I get into trouble. And I’m finally free. No more worrying and thinking too much about what could have been and why couldn’t I be the one. No more heartbreaks and tears. And I’m gonna start working hard again. Because I know I can do much better and that I shouldn’t shortchange myself coz I’m worth it (Ew. Like that Loreal advert. Bleargh). Wish me luck. Much love. Nite.

Ps: Ive also been rediscovering my love for Def Leppard, Madonna (circa 80s) and all those funky 80s pop songs. Current Faves: Pour Some Sugar On Me, We Built This City and Venus. 10 points to who can guess the artists. ;).
