Did you know that personalised fiction can strengthen bonds?
I was sifting through some old emails and I found something that made me laugh. Back when I was 14, I created this alternate world with 3 of my closest girlfriends. To spare them embarassment, I won't mention their names. :P We used to whisper in between those boring drones about History. Once we were on holidays we sent emails instead. That year was one of the best in my schooling history. :D
When I was 13, I also weaved an intricate universe with the help of my cousin. I used to look forward to her sleepovers because late at night, I could write down all these bizzare ideas that would never happen in real life.
Now, considering I was a teenage girl, all my fiction had two things in common: Awesome, loyal girlfriends and cute cute CUTE boyfriends. Wattodo. Raging hormones and all that crap. It was so liberating though, writing down those thoughts of mine. All those fantasies finding a home in between sheets of paper or transported through the internet. And of course it made me closer to my cousin and those 3 girls.
Recently, a certain friend of mine popped the idea of a movie. This friend spent the night spewing out the basic storyline where I often interjected with random info but alas, we never did finish it. I did reread what we discussed, and I laughed like HELL. So to my screenplay writer, when shall we finish it? ;)
