I can't afford his gas, so I'm stuck here watching TV
And thus, with these pretty babies, I wish Americans Happy Independence day. Yesterday. :POn our own home front, political scandals are running rampant and the people have ceased to believe what officials churn out of their biased mouths. Everything seems to come out at such a convenient time and the gunfires are getting increasingly rapid. Please be reminded that I am not taking sides and that I am merely observing what the leaders of my country are stating and echoing the sentiments of my fellow citizens.Anyway, as I promised, I'll share with you a little bit about my excursion to Watson's Bay and Marrickville. The former is located somewhere Northeast of Sydney central. Its views are really gorgeous. I got excited watching the rainbow coloured sea sprays forming as the wind swept the sea surface. :D There wasn't much to do there except enjoy the scenery and if you're loaded, indulge in some overpriced seafood at the famous Doyle's.The view of the Pacific Ocean

Waiting for the ferry back to Circular Quay
Then it was off to Marrickville, a suburb in the inner west of Sydney. Apparently famous for Greek Bakeries, I was duly disappointed when I only found one manned by a cute Greek Grandma. We had a huge slice of Baklava which tasted slightly different to the normal Turkish/Lebanese ones and some unidentifiable pastries that were full of spice and honey. Okla, we're not used to it but I think they were pretty good.Staring at the pretty cakes on display
We then ended the day with a trip to the Op Shops in Newtown and Surry Hills where I scored a vintage tweed blazer for thirty bucks. :)Oh while I'm at it, I'll mention a little something about Leichardt. I love the place. With its quaint Italian eateries and the Amazing Bar Italia. We had coffee and dessert. We also had Italian fare further down the road but I've tasted better dishes back in Malaysia. The one I miss. Balik cepat please.
Zek's Coffee and Canoli.
Okay. Thus ends this edition of Sheera's holiday ramblings. More tomorrow! :P Labels: Food, Friends, Holidays
